SKYPEC NORTHERN REGIONAL BRANCH ACHIEVES OUTSTANDING RESULTS IN 2026 INTERNATIONAL AIR TRANSPORT ASSOCIATION (IATA) INSPECTION.

Reaffirming its standing and its capability to meet the most stringent international standards in the aviation fuel supply chain, Skypec Northern Regional Branch recently completed a successful International Air Transport Association (IATA) periodic inspection of its into-plane fueling and fuel quality control operations. The positive outcome once again underscores the unit’s sustained efforts to uphold safety standards and service quality in serving domestic and international airlines.

During the program, the Branch was honored to welcome a team of seasoned IATA experts, Mr. Bryan Zhu and Mr. Nobuhito Yamamoto, who conducted a comprehensive inspection under the IATA Fuel Quality Pool (IFQP). The working sessions were attended by members of the Branch’s Board of Management, together with officers in charge and specialist staff from the Finance and Planning Division, the Quality Control Division, the Technical Services Center, the Operations Center and the Noi Bai Fuel Depot Team. In the run-up to the inspection, the Branch had proactively carried out coordinated preparations, reviewing documentation, equipment and procedures against JIG standards, ISO 9001 and its Safety Management System (SMS).

Throughout the inspection, the IATA experts carried out on-site checks while cross-referencing archived records. At the Noi Bai Fuel Depot, the team observed fuel receipt procedures; inspected the tank system, filtration technology and grounding systems, among other facilities; and witnessed the loading of fuel into refueling trucks. Sampling, sump draining and fuel quality checks at storage tanks and filter vessels were also closely observed and thoroughly assessed by the experts.

On the apron and at the technical workshop, the team observed Jet A-1 into-plane fueling operations first-hand and examined the technical condition of the refueling trucks. Critical safety items – including coupling checks, nozzle strainers, the safety interlock system, pressure control valve (PCV) tests and the deadman/emergency shut-off (Deadman/ESO) functions – were all operated and tested in accordance with regulations. The team also reviewed periodic maintenance records, calibration certificates for measuring equipment and staff training plans.

At the close of two intensive and rigorous days, Skypec Northern Regional Branch was rated green by IATA/IFQP (Green Status – the highest classification), thereby remaining on a two-year inspection cycle. The result stands as the most objective recognition that the Branch’s infrastructure, technical equipment and operational capabilities fully meet demanding international standards. At the same time, the Branch has proactively taken on board the experts’ constructive recommendations and promptly drawn up an internal improvement plan to continuously raise its service quality.
The success of the 2026 periodic inspection provides strong momentum for the entire Skypec Northern Region workforce to live up to its motto “Wholehearted Dedication – Utmost Effort,” further cementing Skypec’s position as “The Brand of Trust” and a safe, efficient companion on every flight.
